Directions for Preparation and Use:
Use
only under the direction of a physician or dietitian. Lophlex must be consumed in conjunction with natural protein, fluid
and other nutrients in quantities prescribed by a physician
or dietitian to meet phenylalanine and general nutrition requirements.
Fat, carbohydrate and low protein sources may be used to supply
needed calories and to fulfill essential fatty acid requirements.
Intake
of Lophlex will vary depending on the age, body weight
and medical condition of the individual. Intake is adjusted
to maintain normal growth and development. Lophlex should
be divided into equal portions and distributed throughout the
day.
Mix
the contents of one sachet with a small amount of water to make
a paste. Continue stirring while adding water to make up a final
volume of approximately 70 mL (2.5 fl oz). This product may
be taken in a more concentrated form, as either a drink or a
paste. If so, water or diluted drinks should be offered at the
same time.
Lophlex
is best prepared with chilled water and consumed immediately
after preparation.
