Directions
for Preparation and Use:
Use only under the direction of
a physician or dietitian. Periflex Advance must be consumed
in conjunction with natural protein, fluid and other nutrients
in quantities prescribed by a physician or dietitian to meet
phenylalanine and general nutritional requirements.
Periflex Advance is intended for older children and adults, including
pregnant women and women of child-bearing age.
Intake of Periflex Advance is dependent on the age, bodyweight and medical condition
of the individual. Periflex Advance should be divided into equal portions and
distributed throughout the day.
Mixing Instructions:
Add the desired volume of water to a shaker or other container
with a tight fitting lid. Then add the prescribed amount
of powder and shake until fully blended together. Dilution
guidelines are shown in the table below. Periflex Advance
is best served chilled.
Periflex Advance tastes great when blended with 1 fl oz
(30 mL) of water for every 5 to 6 grams of powder.

For accuracy, the powder should
be weighed on a gram scale.
Once prepared, store formula in a refrigerator for no longer
than 24 hours from the time of preparation. Shake or stir
prepared formula immediately before use.
Dilutions are guidelines only. Periflex Advance may be
consumed in a more concentrated form (e.g., a paste or concentrated
drink) by using less water. If consumed in a concentrated
form, water or other drinks should also be taken at the same
time.
Precaution:
Must only be consumed by individuals with proven phenylketonuria
while under strict medical supervision.
Not intended for infants.
Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
Not for parenteral use.
Storage:
Store unopened
can at room temperature. Do not store at extreme temperatures.
Once opened, reseal can and store in a cool, dry place (not
in refrigerator) and use within one month.
