This formulation is only available in the US.

Main Features:
  • Phenylalanine-free unflavored powder fortified with DHA and ARA
  • Contains a balanced mixture of all other essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals and trace elements (including iron, selenium and chromium)
  • Periflex Infant provides 13 g of protein equivalent per 100 g of powder
  • Osmolality (at 0.67 kcal/mL) = 375 mOsm/kg

Indications:

  • Phenylketonuria

Directions for Preparation and Use:

Periflex Infant formula must be consumed in conjunction with a whole protein source (e.g. breast milk or standard infant formula) in quantities prescribed by a dietitian or physician to meet complete protein requirements and ensure normal growth.

Formula dosage will vary depending on the age, body weight, medical condition and protein tolerance of the infant.

Mixing Instructions:
For standard dilution (20 kcal/fl oz), mix one unpacked level scoop (4.75 g) per fluid ounce of prepared formula. For accuracy, Periflex Infant should be weighed on a gram scale.

Periflex Infant may be mixed with warm or cool sterile water.

To make a 5 fluid ounce bottle:

1) Add 5 level scoops of Periflex Infant to a clean, sterile* container.
2) Fill up to the 5 fluid ounce line with warm or cool sterile* water.
3) Shake for 15-20 seconds or until the powder dissolves. Add additional water if necessary to make final volume and shake again.
